Today we're excited to share news about the program's future: MPIM has found a new home within the University of Rochester Medicine Office of Wellbeing.
The move positions us for long-term sustainability and growth, working alongside Chief Wellbeing Officer Craig Rooney, PhD, and his team.
Rooney had reached out to learn about our program soon after arriving at URochester Medicine, and it soon became clear it was a good fit for both sides.
“Doctors Epstein and Krasner built a remarkable program—one that literally changes lives,” Rooney said. “I’m proud to welcome it to the Office of Wellbeing. We know both individual and system-wide interventions are necessary, and MPIM is a powerful tool for individuals that positively influences the system as a whole. By bringing MPIM into our office, we hope to expand its accessibility and inform system-level interventions.”
Being a part of the Office of Wellbeing puts us at the heart of URochester Medicine's wellbeing work and best positions the organization for the future.
The partnership pairs the Office of Wellbeing's organizational reach and strategic priorities with MPIM's evidence base, educational expertise, and global community — aligning the program with the University's focus on both individual wellbeing and healthier learning and care environments.
For our community, the move means improved access and new options. This position allows us to continue to explore new strategies for making our materials available for health professionals both in Rochester and around the globe.
"Multi-day retreats aren't possible for everyone, and these strategies are not a panacea for every work area," Rooney says, "so we are working with MPIM to create a greater menu of options and formats to meet the challenges of health professionals across the institution."
Say tuned for updates on new program offerings in the near future!
